Trans Mountain operates Canada's only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast.

We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

This position is based out of our Burnaby, BC Office and will report to the Manager, Damage Prevention.

Duration:
May 6, 2024, to August 30, 2024.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Damage Prevention team with various tasks related to the protection of the pipeline's assets from thirdparty damage, such as conducting field surveys, updating records, and preparing reports.
  • Respond to requests for locating and marking the pipeline underground infrastructure using appropriate tools and equipment as required.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of the pipeline Damage Prevention Program in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in damage prevention audits, inspections, and investigations as required.
  • Assists the Damage Prevention Manager in administering the aerial patrol contracts and assist in reporting and scheduling.
  • Ensures accuracy, compliance, and relevance of damage prevention controlled documents as required.
  • Assists Damage Prevention team on implementation of the Trans Mountain Public Awareness Program which includes communication of pipeline protection standards and practices to the public and employees.
  • All other duties as requested by the Manager, Damage Prevention or Administrative Assistant.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Business Administration interest or schooling in technology, trades, or administration.
  • Common knowledge of Microsoft systems
  • Outlook/Word/Excel/SharePoint/WebEx.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Selfmotivated, capable of performing tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other Requirements and Information

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution and return to full time studies in the fall.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Minimal travel may be required [5%].

The expected pay range for this position is $20.86 to $27.44 CAD per hour.
