Binnie is looking for a Civil CAD Technician to join our Water Resource Division.

Our team is currently working on several notable projects including the role of Owner's Engineer on the Fraser River Tunnel Project and detailed design of the Highway 1 Six Laning Project between 216th and 264th Street in the Township of Langley.

You will strategize with our Water Resources team on the best way to complete design tasks.

You will also utilize your strong technical skills and knowledge of Civil3D software to move us forward with changing technology.


You will also provide water resources engineering services on a variety of civil infrastructure projects for local municipalities and private developers.

This challenging role offers great mentorship opportunities.


YOUR ROLE:


  • Preparing CAD drawings including setup, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors and pipe networks
  • Designing natural stream channel relocations in Civil3D to support large infrastructure projects
  • Performing volumetric calculations using existing topographic data and design surfaces
  • Performing and documenting quality control checks on CAD drafting and Civil 3D work in accordance with Binnie's Quality Management Program
  • Adhering to various municipal CAD standards as well as Binnie's internal CAD standards
  • Providing guidance and technical expertise to CAD staff in drafting methods

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • 3 to 7 years of progressive experience
  • Registration as an AScT or CTech with ASTTBC or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle preferred
  • Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills
  • Knowledge of GIS software preferred
  • Experience working with civil engineering projects with a focus on municipal/transportation drainage projects.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • Excellent attention to detail to consistently produce accurate, highquality work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
