Six Pints Collective is currently seeking a
Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at
Granville Island Brewing. The taproom showcases our beer selection by offering a finely tuned menu tailored to complement our year-round, seasonal, and small batch brews. The Kitchen Supervisor serves as a key leader in our culinary team and ensures that the food we serve always meets or exceeds our standards of excellence.


Reporting to the Head Chef, it is expected that the Kitchen Supervisor takes responsibility for setting the standard for other team members to work together to maximize productivity.

Our kitchen team must meet and exceed our standards at all times, whether it is cleanliness, organization, or food quality.

Speed and accuracy are vital skills for members of our kitchen team.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Restaurant Operations:


  • Leadership During Hours of Service to consistently meet our standards of service
  • Ensuring health and safety of our customers and employees is the top priority every day
  • Continually strive to improve food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all coolers to minimize wastage/spoilage
  • Assist in menu development of food menus (including promotional and event menus)
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Business Operations

  • Maintaining and continually using inventory management/recipe program (ie. Marketman)
  • Write and distribute schedules consistently
  • Be proactive by troubleshooting inconsistencies and identify opportunities to improve kitchen operations
  • Maintenance of kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Ensure all financial, personnel and payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures as assigned by the Head Chef
  • Perform HR duties alongside the Head Chef including hiring, training, ongoing coaching, conflict resolution and regular reviews with team members including yearly reviews

Physical Aspects of the Role

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps

POSITION PARTICULARS:


  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Previous kitchen management experience necessary
  • Red Seal certification or similar industry experience is an asset
  • Food Safe Certification required
  • Positive attitude and pleasant with people
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Experience working in a team and able to work fast paced environment
  • A selfsufficient and selfmotivating work ethic
  • Honest and reliable
  • The ability to multitask
