Under the general direction of the Consolidation & Subsidiary Accounting Supervisor, will be responsible for the analysis and
accounting of natural gas trading activity for the corporation. You will be responsible for the verification of revenues and cost
allocations in WebTrader for all-natural gas supply, transportation, storage and capacity management transactions. Additionally, you
are is responsible for the preparation of financial information for month-end and year-end financial reporting.


_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Responsible for accounting for the corporation's physical gas supply, transportation, and storage portfolio. This includes the
tracking, verification and analysis of all gas supply volumes and related energy that flows under the corporation's gas supply,
transportation and storage contracts and the development of the appropriate energy, cost and revenue allocations in
WebTrader for upload into the corporation's general ledger accounts.

  • Responsible for the confirmation and processing of monthly disbursements to vendors that supply firm and spot gas supply
purchases, delivered service, pipeline transportation costs and underground storage fees as well as the preparation of the
weekly cash requirement forecast for the Treasury Division.

  • Responsible for the accounting, invoicing, settlement and reporting related to the natural gas price management and capacity
management programs.

  • Calculation of carrying costs for all natural gas deferral accounts.
  • Responsible for reconciling all purchase gas variance accounts and gas deferral accounts (PGVA) used in the operations of
- the Gas Supply Division including the maintenance of detailed audit records related to PGVA.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and update of the WebTrader energy trading system for gas pricing, fuel ratios, storage and
pipeline tolls, volume indexes, spot and forward pricing for the Fixed Rate Gas Commodity Service (FRGCS) program; testing
of WebTrader system upgrades and the identification and logging of back-office system operating problems for resolution by
the system developer.

  • Pursue continuous improvement to the WebTrader gas system, the WebTrader User Guide and verification documents and
participate in period conference calls with the WebTrader developer and Gas Supply staff.

  • Prepare detailed analyses and responses to information requests for Manitoba Public Utilities Board Cost of Gas filings and
other natural gas regulatory hearings.

  • Provide support during annual and periodic external and internal audits of physical gas supply operations.
  • Preparation and analysis of financial reporting information for monthend and yearend as well as responding to inquiries
- related to the year-end audit.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the physical aspects of the Canadian and U.S. pipelines, their tariff structures,
fuel ratios and energy calculation methodologies.

_ Qualifications_

  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA) with threeyears related financial and/or accounting experience;
  • OR
  • Fouryear degree in a related discipline with a minimum of fouryears of progressively responsible financial and/or accounting
- experience in a regulated utility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the development and maintenance of spreadsheet models.
  • Experience with WebTrader and SAP software is an asset.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the natural gas industry is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills as well as a high degree of initiative and the ability to work
independently.


_ Salary Range_
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $2,741.12-$3,794.39
Hourly, $71,269.12-$98,654.14 Annually.
