    We are looking for a skilled and caring Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCAA) to join our team at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta.

    Reporting to the Manager, the Anesthesia Assistant will work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, providing technical support and clinical aid throughout the anesthesia process. The role involves administering medications, managing ventilation, monitoring patients, and collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams.

    Description:

    As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will collaborate with licensed anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthesia care plans, making critical decisions in time-sensitive situations.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Assistant Program, active registration with the relevant regulatory body, and membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) as a Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant (CCAA) are essential.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA), and eligibility for Anesthesia Assistant membership with the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS) are required. Two years of recent operating room experience, including anesthesia management, is also necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Having three or more years of Anesthesia Assistant experience and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is considered an advantage.
