- Accountable for technical execution of telescope operations for a variety of US Government customers.

- Responsible and manages technical issueresolution and ensures true root cause is identified
- Responsible and ensures that proper technical processes and procedures are followed
- Responsible and ensures that proper safety procedures are followed
- Identifies opportunities for technical improvements(e3) for people, process, and tools within capability
- Ensures that staffing demand for technicians and maintenance personnel are defined and documented in StaffIt
- Responsible and manages program design change process
- Ensures telescope system readiness for surveillance operations and visiting experiments
- Lead/establish system troubleshooting and root cause determination within capability
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
- FamiliaritywithDepartment of Defense and/or US Intelligence Community
- Expertise in optical and laser system design, operation, and maintenance
- Experience with project execution activities (cost, scheduled, technical)
- Active TS/SCIsecurity clearance required

TheOperations and Maintenance Site Leadprovides management oversight of the Operations & Maintenance activities. This involves the coordination of the mount operations, image processing, coordinating site activities, and government property control. The Maintenance activities includes all telescopes, domes, hydraulics, IMDS, and mechanical support activities for the ongoing maintenance of the site. TheOperations and Maintenance Site Leadwill direct a highly skilled team of Engineering Technicians and Maintenance Techniciansto operate large space surveillance telescopes, their sensors and instrumentation, laser ranging and laser communications equipment, and all associated data collection systems.
