STEMCELL Technologies, Canada's largest biotechnology company is looking for a Quality Control Analyst to join our QC team.


As a QC Analyst you are responsible for laboratory testing including performing a wide range of assays, operating various instruments, conducting analysis and documentation in compliance with our quality management system, and ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.

In this role you will work collaboratively with other departments and play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of our products and processes while working with the latest technology and products in the biotechnology field.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform QC tests for prescreened raw materials in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements, including data analysis and report preparation
  • Develop QC testing procedures, including revising and writing SOPs
  • Work in collaboration with other departments including but not limited to Quality Assurance, R&D, and Process Development to resolve problems and troubleshoot issues
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and accuracy, including validation, and performance verification

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant life sciences field (e.g., biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or a related discipline), with 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with performance testing, and working with a quality management system (QMS)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience of documentation, writing reports, and writing SOPs
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams
  • Previous experience in mammalian cell culture, aseptic techniques, working in biosafety cabinets, and familiarity with ISO and GMP regulations is an asset
