Warehouse team
on-site in our Calgary head office as a
Warehouse Supervisor.


THE ROLE


Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the
Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all aspects of Warehouse operations are followed and completed as per AVL SOP's.

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assigning the day-to-day tasks of all Warehouse Associates and working alongside all team members within Operations.

This position requires an incumbent with demonstrated problem-solving, collaborative leadership and excellent communication skills.

You must be keen to learn AVL processes and procedures, and enthusiastically engage in leading a dedicated and hard-working team.

An understanding of working in a Health Canada regulated GMP facility would be an asset.


DAY-TO-DAY

  • Oversees and coordinates Warehouse operations including attending the daily morning Operations standup
  • Maintains cGMP standards and implements/enforces work instructions and SOP set out by the company
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are followed for Warehouse facilities and equipment used in Operations
  • Ensure materials are properly received
  • Responsible for having orders prepared according to internal timelines
  • Arrange for pick up, and ship orders
  • Receive incoming shipments
  • Manage and restock warehouse related supplies
  • Manage pallet inventory
  • Ensures that materials required by Production department are designated, counted and or weighed, prior to being staged for manufacturing
  • Manage disposal/pickup of empty drums and totes
  • Work with Operations and Quality to maintain and update any Work instructions, SOPs, and documents used by Warehouse staff
  • Ensures electronic records, scheduling tools, and communications are maintained and kept up to date
  • Participates in hiring of Warehouse Associates
  • Coordinate with Facilities Manager when arranging emergency or other repairs of Warehouse equipment using approved providers
  • Responsible for the onboarding and training of new Warehouse personnel, and for maintaining existing staff training
  • Manages the development of the department resources through training, informal feedback, and participating in individual performance appraisals
  • Approves time sheets, and reviews/approves sick, personal, and vacation time off requests
  • Responsible for ensuring Warehouse areas kept clean and organized
  • Keeping a safe environment and ensuring operations are conducted in a safe manner
  • Ensures that logbooks are maintained, and that documents (paper/electronic) are completed in a timely manner
  • Willingly performs other duties as required

IDEAL FIT
Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Warehouse operations with 2 years working in a supervisory role
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 Drivers' License with good driving record
  • Counterbalance and Reach forklift operation training and certificates, along with other equipment such as a scissor lift, wrapper and pallet jacks
  • Comfortable completing Warehouse activities such as receiving on a computer and open to learning new software programs
