DEPARTMENT:
Finance and Members' Benefits


The Finance and Members' Benefits (FMB) department is responsible for the Doctors of BC and Physician Master Agreement (PMA) programs' finances, administering membership, and benefits to physicians.

FMB provides assistance to physicians when joining or renewing their annual membership and processes negotiated benefit payments to qualifying physicians in BC.

Staff often act as the first point of contact for all members and prospective members, taking enquires via multiple communication channels while providing a high level of customer service





THE JOB:
Finance and Benefits Administrator


Accounts Payable

  • Prepares accounts payable trade invoices & expense claims for payment and checks for accuracy, coding and authorization.
  • Prepares and processes doctor's claims
  • Honorariums, Protocols and Sessionals.
  • Processes EFT honoraria, invoice and expense payments.
  • Ensures rates and expenses are applied based on appropriate Board policies.
  • Reconciles accounts payable to vendor statements.
  • Responds to enquiries & correspondence from vendors, Doctors of BC staff and doctors regarding accounts payable.
  • Maintains accounts payable files & spreadsheets.
  • Provide assistance with the yearend audits.

Accounts Receivable

  • Process accounts receivable invoices and statements including Government billings, Benefit programs and various companies.
  • Responds to enquiries and correspondence from customers, physicians and Doctors of BC staff regarding accounts receivable matters.
  • Codes and posts cash receipts and prepares bank deposits.

Provides support to the Finance and Members' Benefits

  • Reconciles and analyzes various general ledger accounts upon request.
  • Completes month end procedures including journal entries.

Provides support to the various Benefit programs

Other

  • Provide information regarding the administration of programs and concerns raised by individuals.
  • Conduct research as requested.
  • Prepare correspondence regarding committee decisions.
  • Provide general information to members or their authorized representatives, about Membership, dues and other related topics.

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • High school graduation and some work experience; OR an equivalent level of related work experience, education and/or training.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with highly trained professionals.
  • Excellent judgment in setting priorities, identifying issues and determining action required when working under pressure and deadlines
  • Good interpersonal, oral communication and relationship management skills
  • Adept at balancing major concurrent tasks and projects
