Position Highlights
In the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 the BC Government is targeting the deployment of 10,000 public charging stations by
2030 in support of reducing greenhouse gas emissions committed to by the provincial and federal government. BC Hydro is
expected to deliver a significant portion of these targets. The EV Services team within Customer and Corporate Affairs is
growing to meet this challenge.

This position is for a full time regular P4 Program Manager.


What you'll do

  • Manage a growing portfolio of projects from site assessment phase through engineering, detailed design, equipment
selection/ procurement, construction, and commissioning.

  • Track project details including schedule, financial and risk assessments, prepare and present these updates at senior
leadership meetings.

  • Acts as a technical and business leader for a team of 34 specialists.
  • Collaborate with various cross functional teams inside BC Hydro, including Distribution Design, Engineering, Supply
Chain, Field Operations, Powertech Labs and Indigenous Relations.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders such as Technical Safety BC, site hosts and municipalities.
  • Manage deliverables from vendors and contractors including engineering consultants, equipment manufacturers, and
construction firms.

  • Develop new strategies for contractor delivery models. Establish vendor performance metrics and drive to improve
efficiency, quality and throughput.

  • Support the EV fast charging infrastructure team with stakeholder engagement, site selection, technical assessments, and
continuous improvements.

  • Stay current with EV industry trends including but not limited to public charging, home/workplace charging, passenger
EVs, EV fleets and incentives.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education along with demonstrated experience in a contributing discipline such as
engineering, business, environmental sciences, or economics.

  • Highly desirable qualifications include one or more of the following: PMP, P. Eng. and MBA/business degree.
  • 10 years of related project leadership or delivery experience within an electric utility, engineering firm, construction
- complex projects related to energy infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and understanding of utility electrical distribution and EV charging infrastructure are considered an assets.
Prior experience working with BC Hydro Design, Engineering or Construction teams is highly desirable.- Demonstrated well-developed communication, facilitation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills along with planning,

organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, assess, monitor, and proactively address risks. Investigates and analyses challenging

problems, evaluates risks, and applies innovative solutions.- Demonstrated excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills with ability to resolve conflicts in a proactive

manner.- Considerable knowledge of BC Hydro's business drivers and operational responses is considered an asset.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills for communication with a wide variety of stakeholders (including internal and
external senior leaders) with an ability to influence others.- Previous experience with First Nations related projects would be beneficial.

  • Familiarity with owning, driving, and charging an electric vehicle is desirable.
