- Ensure all terminals operate profitably and efficiently by monitoring freight levels, reviewing terminal financials, and assessing daily revenues and costs, among other tasks.
- Collaborate with other management team members to establish administrative and operational policies and procedures, and oversee their implementation and enforcement.
- Collaborate with terminal managers to uphold service standards, address exceptions, and resolve issues.
- Handle human resource matters such as discipline, grievances, and layoffs.
- Support, mentor, train, and nurture staff members.
- Address customer service concerns by investigating service failures, claims, and implementing procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce issues.
- Work alongside sales representatives to maintain service standards, acknowledge customer requirements, secure existing business, and cultivate new opportunities.
- Take charge of the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of each terminal.
- Fulfill supervisory obligations following the organization's policies and relevant laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and managing employee relations.
- Expect long hours and travel.
