Job Description:

The Active Equities (AE) department primarily invests in common equity of publicly traded companies across sectors, geographies, and size. The department's strategies are deployed across four regional investment teams spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

The AE Strategy & Operations group leads the strategy and business management activities for the department including supporting the operational, administrative and financial aspects of the department and overall strategic initiatives.


We are recruiting for an
Analyst or
Associate to join the Business Management Office within the Active Equities department for 12 months.

The Analyst/Associate will contribute to key deliverables and initiatives in addition to core business management functions and responsibilities. The role is based in Toronto and will report to the Director, Strategy & Operations.


Role-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Support team in managing the financial, operational & administrative functions of the department
  • Support review of operating performance for the department (e.g. analyzing operating expense and transaction cost)
  • Execute on adhoc reporting and analysis to support business management and investment decisions
  • Build automation and efficiencies in reporting processes

_ Business Management / Operations_

  • Manage the coordination of departmental data requirements (e.g. market data and subscriptions, marketing materials, internal websites)
  • Onboarding investors with required analytics including equity research data and other system access
  • Develop the Departmental business continuity plan
  • Manage restricted list process and other compliance requirements
  • Manage investment manager approvals and checks
  • Oversee antitrust reporting in partnership with the Department and Investment Operations
  • Coordinate requirements gathering and provide testing support for new departmental systems and tools
  • Other relevant duties and projects as assigned

  • Support other initiatives and adhoc activities as required

Qualifications:
