Role Summary:
The Groundskeeping Technician is responsible for maintaining the residential grounds in exceptional condition and working in a safe manner.
A proactive approach and a team-oriented, can-do attitude are required to ensure a high level of customer and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Turf grounds walk prior to cutting, trimming, mulching, raking, minor repairs & maintenance as required.
- Trees reporting of dead/broken branches.
- Gardens assistance with beds as required, watering seasonally.
- Power washing hard surfaces, parking decks/garages.
- Garbage collection (litter, bulk/cardboard) on a day to day basis.
- Signage repairs.
- Assisting with deliveries of products and organization of storage rooms as required.
- Winter preparations, including clean up and remove leaves as required, and ensure all sandboxes are properly placed and filled.
- Safe, responsible operation of vehicles, equipment, tools, and supplies
- Reporting of emergency and/or hazardous situations to the Property Manager.
- Exterior grounds maintenance including: Litter pick up around grounds, winter maintenance (salting, sanding and snow removal on sidewalks and around buildings), identification and resolution of potential safety hazards including conducting regular visual inspections of all exterior areas including resident balconies.
- Responsible for garbage and recycling maintenance within the campus.
- Light maintenance as required within the grounds and common areas (light bulb replacements, minor painting/plastering, maintenance of exterior hoses and pipes, etc.).
- Upkeep of exterior walkways including wooded trails and pet waste recepticals.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Building Maintenance is an asset
- Forklift/Skid steer experience is an asset although not required
- Strong interpersonnel and followup skills
- A clean driving record is required
- A police clearance check is required
Hours of Work:
Total weekly hours between hours a week, with standard working times of 7:00am-3:30pm. Some overtime may be required under special circumstances related to specific activities.
