Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of residents? Join our team at Lynn Valley Care Centre as a Rehabilitation Assistant.
As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will collaborate with allied professional staff, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists, to provide rehabilitative treatments and programs for our residents.
Your role will be pivotal in helping residents achieve their therapeutic goals and enhancing their quality of life.Location: 1070 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver, BC, V7J 1Z8.
Schedule:
Permanent Full-Time: Monday to Friday
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement designated components of rehabilitative treatment plans and programs under the guidance of Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Physiotherapists.
- Assist in evaluating residents' progress and report any observable changes in social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and functional factors.
- Demonstrate activities and techniques to residents, such as the use of adaptive devices, splints, and mobility aids.
- Collaborate in the fabrication and modification of various devices to support residents' needs.
- Provide training to residents and families in activities of daily living, mobility, and communication.
- Assist residents with dressing and toileting as needed during therapy interventions.
- Maintain therapy equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and proper inventory management.
- Contribute to documentation, reports, and data recording as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, resident conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Attend education/inservice programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Uphold the facility's mission, vision, values, and quality of care standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Sound knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Valid Driver's license.
To
mitigate the risk COVID-19 transmission among persons in our care, patients, residents and staff, an order under the Public Health Act was enacted to limit movement of staff between long-term care facilities. While this order is in place, staff are limited to working in only one (1) private long-term care hospital (facility), licensed long-term care facility, registered assisted living facility, stand-alone extended care hospital, or provincial mental health facility.
The successful applicant for this job posting must provide satisfactory proof, or have such proof on file, that they have received the COVID-19 vaccination and any required COVID-19 booster vaccination. This requirement shall be waived if the applicant has not received the vaccination due to any legislated protected human rights grounds. In such a case, and upon presentation of sufficient proof, the CareCorp Senior Services shall make reasonable attempts to accommodate the applicant to carry out their role where possible recognizing that the health and safety of other employees and residents will be a priority.
