Assistant, Early Childhood Education

Full-time, Continuing Contract

We are seeking an exceptional early childhood educator who excels in working with children 3 to 5 years of age.

You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre.

Teaching and learning are guided and enhanced by the principles of a student-centred, collaborative approach with an inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students.

Hours of work: 9:45am - 5:45pm daily

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team of early childhood educators
Support ECE students in a variety of activities that facilitate a playbased approach to learning
Assist in providing individual and small group instruction
Support individual children as required
Take initiative to seek out tasks
Prepare instructional materials and classroom visual displays
Ensure space is setup for learning and left clean and organized
Plan and implement an after school care program for young girls
Supervise children at lunch and at play outside
Participate in school events such as Sports Day and concerts

Qualifications:

Education Assistant Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience as an early childhood educator an asset
Awareness of the learning styles of young girls
Proven ability to work collaboratively
Capacity to be creative, flexible, and patient
Strong communication skills
Dedicated attention to the care and safety of young children
Commitment to the integration of school routines and learning in a childcare setting
Highly organised with attention to detail

Employment and Application Details:

This role starts at the end of August 2023.
