Description

The resource is expected to work from anywhere in Canada (EASTERN DAYTIME)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of Agile events and project/program management practices
  • Support the Product Owner to ensure group actions are aligned with the Product goals / vision
  • Identify and action impediments that interfere with the progress and achievement of the team's goals (e.g., using burndown charts at standups, OKRs)
  • Ability to navigate, communicate and decipher trends using team metrics (e.g., velocity), DevOps/ IT metrics along with barometer scores and progress against OKRs
  • Facilitate team events (e.g., planning, retro, Kanban flow)
  • Organize the processes of decomposition and story/task estimation. Coordinate crossteam technology dependencies
  • Coordinate interaction with other teams at Scrum of Scrum sessions and any other relevant Product level synchronizations
  • Support identification of tradeoffs between short
- and long-term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and Product Owner

  • Clear obstacles in the team's path (e.g., dependencies on other teams), maintain a list of risks, impediments, and improvements
  • Identify ways to strengthen teams' understanding and adoption of Agile concepts and principles
  • Foster a continuous learning environment, helping teams to inspect and adapt. Role model and coach Agile behaviors as needed
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of trust through facilitation of retrospectives and feedback exchange among group members
  • Bring transparency to Business and IT organizations about team and Product development

Requirements:


Servant Leadership:

Capable of building strong relationships with squads and individuals, building a reputation as a trusted advisor, coach, and friend

Contributor to fostering a healthy work environment and builds self-sufficiency within the squad by ensuring the talent and tools for success are available, and squads are empowered to leverage them

Effective navigator of communications within and beyond the squad to align stakeholders


Coaching and facilitation:

Capable of delivering effective coaching to squad members to help achieve the full potential of the individual and the squad

Strong supporter of squad members by helping them develop necessary skills and Agile expertise

Effective collaborator with PO and squad to drive towards achieving Product Vision and OKRs

Able to lead proactive resolution of intra-or-inter squad conflicts


Agile knowledge and expertise:

Familiar with Agile and leverages relevant frameworks (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) to optimize squad outcomes

Grasps the details of squad members' technical approaches and proactively drives initiatives to improve engineering practices

Fluent in customer centricity and effectively encourages the squad to uphold those principles. Effective at re-orienting the squad thinking around continuous iteration based on customer feedback when necessary


Mindset and behaviors:

Naturally and consistently brings enthusiasm and passion about the Enterprise Agile process to effectively encourage the squad to contribute to that environment

Adopts a growth mindset and promotes and open-feedback culture within the squa


Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

Srum Master: 7 years (preferred)
- coaching and facilitation: 3 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Reliability Security Clearance (from the government) (required)
