KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with senior management and appropriate colleagues to implement and develop Siloam Mission's major giving program; This includes managing your own portfolio of donors;
  • Work closely with key members of the Development team to further develop and grow our already robust planned giving program;
  • Supervise the activities related to Siloam's midlevel giving program which includes over 3,000 donors;
  • Manage our annual giving communications program that includes, direct mail, online giving, third party and events fundraising activities;
  • Ensure proper stewardship of our current sponsorship program while looking for opportunities for growth;
  • Supervise the staff who oversee our inkind giving program;
  • Follow best practices and design new practices for acquiring, retaining, and advancing Siloam donors;
  • Collaborate with our Donor Care team to ensure effective stewardship is in place for all levels of donors while ensuring the Association of Fundraising Professional's Donors Bill of Rights is followed;
  • Work with the appropriate team members to keep records and moves management tools up to date;
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that complement all fundraising activities in a way that reflects Siloam's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan;
  • Play a lead role in the planning, scheduling, and implementation Development communications, events, and activities;
  • Work with various other departments within the organization, including direct services to ensure Development is supporting the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan;
  • Provide leadership and mentor a team with a wide variety of portfolios and needs;
  • Contribute to a workplace culture that empowers staff to take responsibility for their roles and goals;
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned;;

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience leading or working on major capital campaigns;
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in a relevant area;
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is considered an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in nonprofit sector and at least 3 years' experience in a management role;
  • Experience in donor management software and tracking practices is an asset;

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/BEHAVIORS

  • Experience leading or working on major capital campaigns;
  • Knowledge on current related tax laws;
  • Previous businessrelated experience is an asset;
  • Strategic thinker with proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets;
  • Strong cultivation, solicitation and relationship building and management skills;
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills;

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours of work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends;
  • Office environment;
  • Some travel for offsite events and meetings required;
