Plains has an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner in Sarnia, Ontario.

Working out of our Sarnia NGL facility, you will report to the Team Lead, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, and be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective relief planning of short-term and long-term maintenance activities in Plains' Great Lakes District.

Using sound planning practices, Plains standards, and safety-focused strategies you will develop work plans with input from stakeholders including Asset Integrity, Instrumentation / Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, and Operations.


Permanent residency within 120 km of Plains' Sarnia facility is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities:


  • Adopt and align to PMC procedures, best practices, and workflows.
  • Utilize the work execution management process (WEMP), maintaining a clear overview of the volume of prepared corrective maintenance backlog and prioritizing when to bring the work into the schedule for execution.
  • Provide relief support for the planning group by collaborating with Operations, discipline leads, scheduler, and other stakeholders to prepare planned work for scheduling.
  • Display functional competencies regarding safety leadership, equipment safety, and maintenance execution.
  • Work constructively within a high demand environment.
  • Participate in departmental goal development / realignments and achievement strategies.
  • Attend scheduled planning & scheduling meetings.
  • Be an active steward of the environment and HSE by supporting the Plains Operations Management System.
  • Assist in developing accurate budgetary cost summaries for forecasted estimates.
  • Actively manage planner backlog to achieve timely completion of work packs to within target start dates.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) optimization and job plan development and participate in the continuous improvement loop.
  • Support and coordinate the maintenance information management system PM program.
  • Coach new users or groups on proper Maximo usage and navigation.
  • Follow proper procurement practices.
  • Cultivate and foster productive and professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders.

Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Technical diploma or Certified Interprovincial journeyperson in a Plainsrelevant trade preferred
  • 5+ years' quality knowledge and handson experience with mechanical maintenance execution on pumps, compressors, aerial coolers, and pressure equipment in a process environment preferred
  • 3+ years in a maintenance planning role preferred
  • Plant operational experience considered an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Maximo or relevant CMMS with a background in reliability centered maintenance (RCM)
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Shutdown / turnaround experience considered an asset
  • Goaloriented selfstarter who works well in highpressure situations due to competing priorities
  • Able to lead by example and positively influence a variety of individuals in a busy field environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with other disciplines, assuring regular and open communication
  • Standard site qualifications including H2S Awareness, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, CSE
  • Permanent residence within a 120 km radius of Plains' Sarnia facility
  • Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the company's Drug & Alcohol Policy including preemployment testing
  • A valid Driver's License with a clean abstract
