    Description

    Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is a top-notch company in the transportation and midstream sector, specializing in solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs) such as storage, processing, and marketing. PMC manages strategically positioned facilities for crude oil and NGL storage, as well as NGL separation and fractionation into pure liquid petroleum gas (LPG) products like propane and butane.

    Plains is on the lookout for an Analyst, IT Architecture who will report to the Director of Business Engagement & Architecture. This role is pivotal in connecting strategic vision with architectural practice and execution.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Contribute to developing and implementing strategies and business plans related to information systems architecture. This involves assessing current capabilities, identifying needs, and aiding in the development of future architectures under senior leadership guidance.
    • Support the establishment and management of an IT governance framework aligned with strategic and operational objectives. This encompasses understanding policies, contributing to leadership discussions, and promoting awareness of regulatory compliance within the architecture practice.
    • Aid in managing and aligning IT services and systems across the organization. This necessitates a solid grasp of technology and business operations to ensure IT architecture supports strategic objectives under senior leadership direction.
    • Participate in designing and implementing architectural solutions meeting current and future IT and business requirements. This includes contributing to the development, refinement, and implementation of architectural principles and standards.
    • Support change management activities to ensure controlled management of IT architecture changes. Responsibilities include assisting in planning, communicating, and managing change impacts under senior leadership oversight.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

    • The ideal candidate will have an interest in Enterprise Architecture or Project Management, as this role supports the delivery of architectural solutions throughout the organization.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Information Security, along with 7+ years of experience preferred, or an equivalent mix of training and experience.
    • Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) designation is desirable but not mandatory.
    • Open Group Open Certified Architect (Open CA) certification is advantageous but not necessary.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of holistic enterprise architecture components.
    • Ability to analyze current architecture to pinpoint weaknesses and develop improvement opportunities.
    • Ensure recommendations are business-relevant, timely, and correctly deployed.
    • Skilled communicator capable of coordinating and organizing plans aligned with our architectural principles and practices.
    • Clean criminal background history and positive reference checks are required.
