Description:


As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff.

You will distribute and replenish patient care supplies, perform quality control tests on equipment and record maintenance data. You may also transport patients (clients/residents), equipment, lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (Level C) is required. Must be able to read and communicate fluently in the English language.

Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining confidential information.


Preferred Qualifications:

Current employment in a Service Worker II position or higher is an asset.

Knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics is an asset along with a true interest in health care and the desire to help others.
