- Operate Astec Double Barrel Asphalt Plant to produce hot mix asphalt.
- Perform truck loading and ticketing operations.
- Operate front end loader to feed the asphalt plant.
- Unload Asphalt Cement Oil from bulker to storage tanks under strict safety procedures
- Perform routine maintenance on the asphalt plant when required.
- Practice open 2-way radio communication with the asphalt plant crew to ensure plant is properly maintained and constantly monitored.
- Ability to perform work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work the project schedule which may include overtime, weekends, and/or night shift.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for the safe execution of tasks performed by plant employees.
- Understand, participate in and improve safety program and initiatives as part of the plant crew.
- Any other duties as required.
- Minimum one year of experience in asphalt plant production, preferably Astec Double Drum plant
- Proven mechanical aptitude for general plant maintenance, welding, fabrication and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver license and own a vehicle.
- Physical capability to repetitively lift and carry at least 40 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to respond appropriately to the needs and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions for self and others sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
