Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean, School of Nursing and Personal Support Worker Studies in the Health Sciences Division, located at the Welland Campus.

The salary range is $104,262 to $139,013 for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Reporting to the Dean, Health Sciences, the Associate Dean is responsible for planning and implementing the academic delivery of Nursing and PSW courses and programs in line with college budget and enrolment forecasts.

The Associate Dean provides leadership in the development and renewal of curriculum, the effective hiring and development of faculty, and the management of workload assignments.

The Associate Dean supervises faculty and staff, and manages the delivery of courses and programs in the portfolio.

This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and college stakeholders to ensure that courses and programs are delivered effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and student success.

Resolving academic integrity cases, dealing with student issues, attending community and college recruitment events, and participating on college-wide committees are also responsibilities of the Associate Dean.


Qualifications:


  • Masters degree in Nursing
  • Minimum nine (9) years combined experience which includes management and handson nursing experience and a minimum five (5) years of successful teaching at a postsecondary level
  • Registration in good standing with the CNO
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Demonstrated experience in developing studentcentred programs and supports
  • Experience with curriculum design and development in a post secondary/adult environment
  • Proven development abilities in moving ideas from conceptual to operational
  • Advanced team building, collaboration, and networking abilities
  • Superior skills in communication, problem solving/conflict resolution, organizing, and prioritizing within a multifaceted role

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in academic leadership
  • Enrolment management and budgeting experience
  • Experience with supervision of staff within a unionized environment
