- Complete prospecting activities to secure initial and follow-up appointments with customer decision makers, including cold calls, lead generation, referrals, and networking.
- Maintain and grow an existing customer base.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals and presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
- Educate current customers on new products and product lines.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Engage with new and existing customers to drive increased product sales.
- Address and resolve customer concerns and issues.
- Travel approximately 80% of the time to customer sites and industry trade shows to present products.
- May assist Corporate Accounting with payment collection.
- Responsible for company vehicle upkeep and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Other duties, as assigned and by Management.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed targets.

- Personable, articulate, and knowledgeable.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.

- Three to five years of outside business-to-business sales experience (lumber and/or building supply industry experience preferred).
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills, including a customer-focused phone presence.
- Must possess skills in business presentation, sales fundamentals, negotiation, and closing.
- Self-motivated with initiative and a proactive work style.
- Basic math and analytical skills.
- Bilingual in English and French is strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Valid driver's license.

SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Outside Sales Representative – Northern Ontario will maintain and grow an existing customer base, prospect and generate new business, and build long-term customer relationships.
