Duties:
- Refine and maintain regulatory compliance policy and program implementation.
- Collaborate with local management to develop programs to reduce incidents and drive a culture of safe behaviour.
- Assist with the development of risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
Safety:
- Conduct basic investigations.
- Coordinate with corporate safety with higherlevel issues.
- Oversees and drives employee safety compliance from the local level.
- Maintains liaison with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams, to ensure information exchange and mutual assistance.
- Responsible for communicating records, tracking, and reporting related to local EHS KPIs.
- Responsible for implementing EHS audits/inspections as well as the requirements for conducting, tracking, and reporting.
- Responsible for coordinating online and inperson EHS training. This will include training for both linelevel employees as well as local leaders.
- Chairperson of the local safety committee that will meet monthly to review incidents, near misses, and safety results to determine root causes and develop/implement corrective actions.
- Routinely meets with the Director of Safety & Compliance to discuss/review objectives, strategies, and plans associated with safety improvements, safety issues, and safety results.
Environmental:
- Identify chemical inventory onsite and compare levels to regulated action levels.
- Ensure appropriate disposition of all waste material.
- Establish and maintain required Environmental recordkeeping and reporting processes.
- Establish and manage waste minimization and emergency response planning.
- Respond to upset conditions and advise team members on corrective actions.
- Function as point of contact for chemical inventory and waste management processes.
- Develop and implement Environmental management systems for any applicable plant activities.
- Implement required Environmental training programs.
- Responsible for all facility Environmental permitting/compliance activities.
- Train or arrange training for appropriate personnel accordingly.
- Implement Environmental policies/programs.
- Maintain compliance in changing regulatory and growing business environment.
- Develop a chemical disposal plan for location(s).
Automobile Program (If applicable):
- Identify opportunities and programs to reduce autorelated incidents.
- Evaluate prior years' happenings and current trends.
- Provide action plans for improvement and track to completion.
- Communicate monthly KPIs.
- Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in a related field preferred.
- Ability to successfully work independently or within a team.
- Must be able to influence without direct authority.
- Committed to customer satisfaction and ability to adapt/respond to different personalities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Possess the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization effectively.
- Must be willing to travel mínimally to corporate meetings, and regional training.
- Environmental, Health, and Safety degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of compliance experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years in a related role in a manufacturing/construction/chemical environment preferred.
