Junior Finance Coordinator**.

Reporting to the controller, you will be an integral member of a fast paced, dynamic team.

You will be responsible for a wide range of financial and administrative duties, will assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, thrive in a changing environment, and are able to problem solve, and continuously improve our systems and workflows.


Our Team collaborates with First Nation, Métis, and Inuit Nations from coast, to coast, to coast. Our team works alongside Indigenous Nations and organizations across Canada, providing technical guidance, regulatory advice, peer reviews, planning, and negotiation strategy in relation to major resource development projects.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Accounts payable, uploading receipts into our accounting software and a shared folder, and preparing reports for reconciliations.
  • Accounts receivable, including preparing and sending invoices and contacting clients to help resolve payment issues.
  • Accounts receivable, billing and collections with followup phone calls.
  • Invoicing, prepare monthly client invoices and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain all accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Identify and resolve any accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain financial historical records by keeping and filing accounting documents.
  • Other finance and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • 24 years of professional experience in a junior finance coordination role or related experience working with Indigenous clients or coworkers.
  • High commitment to client satisfaction and motivated by accomplishment.
  • Previous accounts receivable and accounts payable experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and look for and suggest innovations.
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills are a must.
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Ajera.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
