We are looking for an experienced Cafeteria Worker to join our team in Utopia, ON to fill a three-month contract.

The Cafeteria Worker is responsible for the preparation and service of cafeteria food. The Cafeteria Worker is responsible for maintaining the cafeteria in a clean and sanitary manner according to policy.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure all menu items are prepared and served according to departmental policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment.
Assure that meals are prepared and delivered on time and in an acceptable quantity and quality.
Ensure the food service area is well maintained, clean and sanitized at all times according to established standards.
Assist in the presentation of all menu items, ensuring they adhere to established standards.

Monitor that all food and other departmental supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner so that adequate inventory levels are maintained to support volume or anticipated volume.

Assist with the training of new employees.
Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs.
Perform other related duties as required.
Provide friendly and efficient customer service to the customers in the cafeteria.
Serve food in the proper portion size and at the proper temperature.
Help the cafeteria manager with taking stock, ordering and receiving all goods for the department.

Skills, Education & Experience

Minimum of three (3) years in catering and food services required.
Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the food services industry.
Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.
