Payroll Administrator
Community Living Greater Sudbury is hiring a Payroll Administrator.

This position prepares payroll for a population of union and non-union employees, and is responsible for multiple financial activities, including credit cards, utilities and passport payments.


About the Opportunity:


  • Produce accurate and timely payroll for salary, hourly, unionized and nonunionized employees in accordance with labour regulations and standard accounting principles
  • Process biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable payroll statutory, legislation, the Organization's policies and procedures and the Collective Agreement
  • Working with adjustments, Record of Employments, WSIB
  • Produce biweekly and monthly accounting reports
  • Making accurate monthly remittances
  • Recording journal entries to the General Ledger
  • Processing payable and receivables
  • Data entry
  • Assisting with annual auditing
  • Updating the internal database and administrative duties related to finance and bookkeeping
  • Other finance duties will be assigned as necessary
  • Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role

About You:


  • You have 4+ years of payroll experience
  • You have 3+ year of recent accounting experience
  • You have CPA or other payroll designation ideally
  • Your experience with payroll implementation is paramount
  • You have working knowledge of payroll and benefits procedures, guidelines and policies
  • You have demonstrated experience using computerized payroll systems
  • You can interpret, apply, and explain complex legislation and collective agreement provisions relating to salary administration, employee benefits
  • You can perform mathematical calculations
  • You have analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve issues and discrepancies
  • You can accurately compile and input data, maintain records, and conduct searches
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat, and familiarity with Sharepoint and Dynamics is an asset
  • You have knowledge and understanding of rudimentary databases for creating tools to calculate and produce a variety of reports and documents
  • You have excellent communication, interpersonal and client focused skills to respond to enquiries and complaints
  • You can organize work, set priorities, and perform demanding tasks with rigid deadlines
