    About Umicore Battery Materials in Canada

    Umicore is preparing to build a battery materials production plant in Loyalist Township, Ontario - the first of its kind in North America. The cutting-edge facility will be a critical part of Canada's electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. Throughout the design, construction, and operation of the plant, Umicore will be seeking a variety of professionals who share our passion for innovation and sustainability.

    What you will be doing

    For this new site, we are looking for a General Site Services Manager , reporting to the Managing Director. In this role you will be responsible for setting up (creating and implementing) and running the administration of General Site Services for the UBM Canada operational facility in Loyalist. The General Site Services Manager will create plans for the future facility, implement those plans, and manage all policies, procedures, processes and systems linked to the facility management, security and facility and administration services for the manufacturing plant.

    Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans and processes on site services for the existing operational work areas and for the future operating facility.
  • In collaboration with other departments ensure site services are provided efficiently and effectively.
  • Look at design plans from a site services angle and search for operational (automatization) and cost optimizations.
  • Ensure that external vendors for general services (laundry, cleaning services, cafeteria...) are well managed and set-up.
  • Develop and implement a robust security plan that encompasses access control, perimeter security, surveillance systems, and response protocols.
  • Create processes for onboarding of employees, office administration procedures, visitor management, etc.
  • Ensure communication on site services and procedures are timely and clear.
  • Support in organizing bigger events on travel arrangements, specific meetings, special visits, conferences and similar

    • Who we are looking for

  • Degree or Diploma with > 5 years of site services experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of public administration process and related laws and regulations
  • Computer skills: MS Office software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerBI) and service management digital tools
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Good communicator, strong interpersonal skills, promoter of cross-department cooperation
  • Ability to organize and coach his/her team and to organize project teams
