    Description

    Job Role: Lead Process Engineer

    Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs advanced calculations and applies standards accurately without the need for supervision.
    • Takes the lead when collaborating with colleagues.
    • Reviews the work of engineers and designers in the creation of engineering documents for projects as required.
    • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and excels in making informed decisions with a high level of data analysis.
    • Regularly checks vendor documents to ensure compliance with specifications and data sheet requirements.
    • Leads medium to large-scale projects or proposals.
    • Develops innovative approaches and guides others in enhancing designs while reducing costs.
    • Evaluates multiple solutions and makes sound decisions based on thorough data analysis.
    • Manages multiple assignments concurrently.
    • Applies techniques and technologies to enhance processes and drive business outcomes.
    • Makes effective use of industry and company standards to engineer and design efficiently.
    • Serves as a knowledgeable source for junior engineers.
    • Ensures standards are correctly interpreted and applied.
    • Leads projects in interpreting and implementing codes and standards.
    • Leads teams in identifying changes in project scopes during medium to large-scale projects.
    • Implements design changes to control budgets and adhere to schedules.
    • Recognizes and prioritizes customer requirements.
    • Executes assigned tasks efficiently to optimize personal productivity.
    • Leads quality assessments of designs and engineering in medium to major projects to ensure precision.
    • Establishes credibility through technical expertise and leadership skills.
    • Manages time effectively to fulfill team commitments and individual duties.
    • Contributes to the development of client proposals and project cost estimations.
    • Produces design deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, data sheets, and engineering calculations encompassing hydraulics, process simulations, and performance flow curves.
    • Resolves technical issues related to the design, construction, equipment, and operations of refining and petrochemical processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is a minimum requirement.
    • At least 10-20 years of relevant experience in the energy, midstream, refining, and petrochemical sectors.
    • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Experienced in providing guidance, leadership, and training to junior engineers.
    • Skilled and experienced in leading small teams to accomplish tasks and designs for projects.
    • Acts as a representative within the project team and coordinates departmental work.
    • Adapts to changing work demands and performs effectively.
    • Delivers work effectively through well-structured written and verbal presentations.
    • Communicates messages and ideas clearly, ensuring comprehension.
    • Engages in effective communication with supervisors and colleagues within the department.
    • Collaborates across departments and involves others in problem-solving. Initiates meetings within teams, other departments, or internal customers for clarity on tasks.
    • Supports project teams and departments positively and productively.
    • Works harmoniously with others to achieve shared goals and objectives.
    • Serves as a technical expert and contact point for external and internal stakeholders.
    • Proficient in Aspen HYSYS and other process simulation tools.
