Job Duties:
Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered with carpet or various other flooring. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Cut the resilient flooring material accordingly and properly install it on the floor surface. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Conduct moisture, ph., temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Perform double-bond carpet installations. Install outdoor carpets.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Education:
Secondary School is required
Experience:
2-3 year of experience as carpet layer/installer or in relevant field, or a completion of a 3-4 year apprenticeship program Language: English Work Conditions and
Physical Capabilities:
Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Repetitive tasks
Personal Suitability:
Team player, Efficient interpersonal skills, Judgement
