Position Summary:


The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the content development and management, internal and external communications initiatives, marketing partnerships, paid marketing, and social media for Discover Saskatoon's Marketing & Communications Team.

In this role you will play an integral part in the coordination and execution of consumer marketing campaigns, ensuring the team can move our destination promotion strategy forward.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work to ensure Discover Saskatoon's brand and voice is aligned and implemented across all program areas.

This rile will provide oversight of Discover Saskatoon's content management system(s) and editorial/content calendars.

This will require development and ongoing execution ensuring efficient use of resources to proactively plan and deliver on all content requirements by themes and consumer segments for a variety of audiences.


The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will have a strong command of the English language, and high proficiency of online/emerging digital platforms.

Experience creating and curating high-quality marketing and communications content, and tracking engagement through analytics.

This position requires the ability to create strong working relationships, an eye for creativity, intellectual curiosity, and proficiency in problem-solving.

It is also essential for this role to have exceptional writing and communications skills to help lead the execution of Discover Saskatoon's destination storytelling.


What You Need:


  • A degree in marketing, communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience
years of experience in a communication, marketing, or content development role

  • Experience in supporting or leading consumer marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels
  • Experience in blog writing and SEO
  • Confidence in managing multifaceted projects and oversight of multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including copywriting for social media and advertising campaigns
  • Strong understanding of social media publishing standards, content sharing, creation, and adhering to brand standards.
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize projects with competing deadlines and demands
  • Serviceoriented with a strong customer focus
  • Knowledge of the tourism industry is considered an asset, as is knowledge of Saskatoon's tourism experiences, products, and geography
  • A solid understanding of Visual Communications as it relates to marketing and communications strategies
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Adobe design software, considered an asset

What You'll Do:


Consumer marketing campaign support and execution

  • Supports the development and execution of marketing plans and tactics in alignment with business goals, strategic objectives, and the Discover Saskatoon brand
  • Works closely and builds relationships with our creative agency to execute Discover Saskatoon campaigns globally
  • Seek opportunities for innovation and efficiencies within our marketing campaigns
  • Collaborates with our creative agency on all ad unit production and trafficking
  • Supports Discover Saskatoon's consumer campaigns in other aspects and tasks as identified by the Manager, Digital Marketing

Research and analysis

  • Monitor and analyze intergovernmental or intermunicipal trends and issues of interest or relevance to the region, community, and/or key collaborators
  • Monitor and track key industry trends, events and issues of interest

Campaign strategy and support

  • Support the development and execution of marketing plans and tactics in alignment with business goals, strategic objectives, and the Discover Saskatoon brand
  • Work closely and build relationships with our creative/ content partners and other key collaborators to execute Discover Saskatoon campaigns globally
  • Support Discover Saskatoon's consumer campaigns in other aspects and tasks as identified by the Director, Marketing & Communications.

Relationship building and collaboration

  • Works crossfunctionally with team members to ensure integration of all campaigns as related to Discover Saskatoon's brand strategy and marketing communications platforms
  • Ensure both earned and paid media initiatives are aligned and supported
  • Consumer campaigns and corporate key messages are fully integrated
  • Participates in interdepartmental and agency partner meeti
