Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for processing payments efficiently, consistent with our company processes and controls, and with great attention to detail.


Responsibilities:


  • Process all payables relating to assigned portfolio
  • Respond to all vendor queries in a timely and positive manner
  • Process all invoices and cheque requisitions
  • 2 way matching to ensure all data on the Purchase Order and Invoice align
  • Coding, entering and scanning payables into the accounting system
  • Compare and report any discrepancies between invoices and utility listing
  • Obtaining necessary approvals
  • Preparing cheque packages, match to backup and preparing same for submission to Supervisor
  • Review and investigate aged payables and outstanding cheques on a biweekly basis
  • Reconcile vendor accounts when necessary
  • Responsible for filing, archiving and retrieving all paid files
  • Provide invoices, as required by others for special projects (i.e. Audits)
  • Liaison with Construction, Operations, Legal, Business Units and other Accounting Departments
  • Perform special assignments as required.

Academic/Professional Requirements:


  • College Diploma and/or Certificate

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Preferably in real estate, development and/or construction
  • Enrolled in Professional Accounting Program (CPA) considered an asset
  • Good oral and written communication skills
