Description
Since 1936 Columbia College has offered quality educational programs designed to prepare students for university admission.

These programs include a University Transfer Program that is fully integrated into the BC Transfer System, a Secondary Program that is Certified by the Province of BC, and a full-time Academic Preparatory English Program that is accredited by Languages Canada.

Thousands of students, both Canadian and international, have progressed through Columbia's programs to successful Canadian universities notably as the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, and University of Victoria.

Since April 2013, Columbia College has offered its programs in a new five-story building on Terminal Avenue, just east of Vancouver's city centre.

This Main Campus offers excellent state-of-the-art facilities to students, including science and computer labs, lounges, a bookstore, and a library.

In September 2017, Columbia College expanded into a newly-renovated facility a short walk away at 333 Terminal Avenue. This new North Campus is home to Columbia's High School Program.

Columbia College operates as a not-for-profit society, where every staff member is eligible for society membership after a prescribed waiting period and participates democratically in the institution's decision-making.

As a registered charity dedicated to the advancement of education, Columbia College can approach higher education in completely unique ways.

The rapidly changing world, including changes in higher education, offer an opportunity for the College to pilot new and alternative approaches to preparing students to pursue a higher education, and make a positive impact on the world as global citizens.

In 2018, the Columbia College community decided to leverage and expand activities aligned with its charitable status going forward.

Inspired by this vision, the College committed $1.7M to launch a series of pilot programs in In 2022 the College launched the Institute for Equity and Advancement in Education to further the College Vision of an inclusive society where students can access the education of their choice.
