Our University division is seeking a positive, dynamic and highly professional individual to fill the role of
Dishwasher for our Trinity Western University Location_._ The Dishwasher will accurately and efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, cooking equipment, and working stations.

This position offers excellent potential to grow and develop your skills, so a willingness to learn and grow is essential.


General Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
  • Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
  • Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
  • Unloading and storing deliveries.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
  • Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.
  • Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment.
  • Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  • Follows all Company, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies, procedures and initiatives, including HACCP policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience, including extensive food preparation experience
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers and other departments with professionalism and respect
  • Familiarity of kitchen equipment.
  • Intermediate to advanced knife skills required.
  • Proven ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised

Specific Skills and Requirements:


  • Bilingualism (English / French) may be required / is an asset.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Ability to see objects at both close and long range, and to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses
  • Comfortable doing a significant amount of walking.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds. May use mechanical aids to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with a moderate to loud noise level.

Salary:
$16.00-$17.00 per hour
