- A diploma, certificate or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution (uploaded to resume);
- ECE Level 2 classification, or ECE Level 1 classification (uploaded to resume) combined with a minimum of one (1) year experience working with pre-school children in a childcare environment. Orientation (Entry) Level and School Age Approval are not equivalent to a Level 1 or higher ECE classification;
- Recent experience (within past 5 years) working with pre-school children;
- First Aid Certification is required (a copy of the certification needs to be uploaded with the resume);
- Training and/or experience in a play-based learning environment is an asset.

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is inviting qualified Early Childhood Educators to express their interest in consideration for a Support Early Childhood Educator position with the Pre-Primary Program for the school year. Term and Permanent positions will be available.
Early Childhood Educators who meet the following criteria may be eligible for a Support ECE position:

If you are successful in the interview and selection process, you will be added to the ECE Pre-Screened Qualified Applicant List for the school year. You will still be required to apply for specific ECE positions and will be provided further information on the staffing timelines and process.
Support Early Childhood Educators are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 5047 (CUPE) and work 30 hours per week. The annual salary is $30,851.37 paid across 12 months for working a 10 month school year. In addition, the HRCE offers a comprehensive pension and benefit package.
