Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Commodity Tax Supervisor on a permanent basis at our Home Office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan reporting to the Commodity Tax Manager.

What you'll do:

You will perform several functions including commodity tax review, reporting, and research, using your expertise to provide professional guidance to stakeholders.

You will lead a team of Senior Accountants, Accounting Technicians, and a Coop Student responsible for reviewing and filing commodity tax returns in 8 provincial jurisdictions. This will include reviewing 50 monthly and 25 quarterly or annual commodity tax returns which average $100 million per month.
You will act as a contact for all commodity taxrelated issues across the Cooperative Retailing System (CRS). You will also work with auditors to ensure they understand FCL's business methodology and answer any questions they may have.
You will work with business units to ensure that correct tax and ecology codes are applied to all items in the item master file, and that appropriate licenses are recorded in vendor and customer files.
You will prepare the team's yearly plan and budget for approval by the Senior Tax Manager. Once approved, you will be responsible for operating the team within these parameters, including the hiring and development of team members.

Who you are:

You have a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a major in Accounting.
You have a minimum of 9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience related to accounting and/or tax. (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
A professional accounting Designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) is considered an asset.
