In this position, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & HR, you will be responsible for managing the Finance department.

You will handle full-cycle financial reporting and analysis duties for our company, from the transactional level through to production of consolidated financial statements and reports.

You will be a professional accountant with inherent management qualities and high attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.

You must have solid communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate excellent knowledge of accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).


What You Do

  • Manage fullcycle financial operations including revenue recognition, payroll, billing, A/R, A/P, GL and inventory accounting while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare and analyze monthly consolidated financial statements and reports in addition to subsidiary financial statements
  • Manage annual audit and income tax filing processes for parent company and subsidiaries
  • Manage and comply with various government reporting and filing requirements
  • Manage annual budget process
  • Manage and improve departmental processes, policies and reporting
  • Provide recommendations on operational improvements and efficiencies with a view to maintaining and strengthening internal controls
  • Supervise Finance department employees
  • Other duties may be assigned as required

Requirements (Education and Experience)

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field; or a combination of both education and industry related experience
  • Experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in a manufacturing company
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience preparing multicurrency consolidated financial statements
  • Experience creating and adapting management reports, transforming data into information
  • Experience processing payroll using cloudbased services
  • Experience with corporate taxes, including SR&ED
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; familiarity with Salesforce considered an asset
