Overview:


As the Azure Administrator you are responsible for designing, implementing, securing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security.

You are responsible for supporting and expanding DEV/OPS and automation capabilities. You will also administer Cloud systems and Cloud environments to ensure availability, reliability, security and integrity.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement, monitor and maintain Microsoft Azure solutions including compute, storage, network and security.
  • Design, implement, configure and maintain various Azure IaaS and PaaS environments as well as Azure Cloud Services, such as Azure AD, AIP, ATP, ASR, CAS, EM+S, DevOps, Teams, Intune, AAD Connect, Exchange Online and O36
  • Deploy and maintain Azure IaaS Virtual Machines, Azure Application and Networking Services to support growth into the cloud.
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain containers (stand alone (Docker) and Orchestrated with Kubernetes).
  • Optimize Azure buildouts for cost/performance (VM optimization, reserved instances, etc.).
  • Design, implement, configure and maintain Cloud backups, including policy creation and retention periods.
  • Design, implement and maintain Cloud Storage solution ensuring cost containment.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Business or related discipline.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator and Azure DevOps Engineer are an asset.
  • Seven years of experience in the IT industry with multiple large workload migrations to Windows Azure environments, including:
  • Four years across the Microsoft Application Platform, including
  • Development Platform and Tools, Web, Windows,.NET Framework, SQL Server, Exchange Online and Portal technologies.
  • Cloud migration tools (eg. Teraform)
  • Four years of project management or technical leadership experience in the same or related technical support discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Azure / MVC development toolkit, other development tools, Deployment and TFS.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cloud computing, IAAS, PaaS, SaaS and Cloud design patterns.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the technology platform, including:
  • JavaScript Object Notation (JSON).
  • Windows PowerShell.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012 and 2014, and Microsoft Office 365 Services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2).
  • Direct experience of enterprise solution shaping and Microsoft Azure Cloud architecture development including excellent documentation skills.
