Under the general direction of the Manager, Corporate Partnerships, the Officer, Corporate Partnerships develops, manages, and grows small to mid-level relationships with new, existing, and lapsed corporate donors in support of Save the Children's domestic and international programs.


The Officer, Corporate Partnerships will manage their own portfolio of corporate donors representing multiple fundraising channels such as corporate grants, employee fundraising and corporate matching gifts, and Cause Related Marketing partnerships.

Daily functions will include regular cultivation and stewardship of corporate contacts, fulfilling benefits for corporate partnerships.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

Corporate Donor Relationship Management

  • Manage a portfolio of small to midlevel corporate donor partnerships and causerelated marketing partnership through engaging with existing corporate relationships, initiating new ones, and reengaging lapsed donors, utilizing effective and appropriate stewardship techniques.
  • Assist in developing and implementing appropriate strategies and tools required to initiate and cultivate positive relationships crafting opportunities for unrestricted and multiyear giving.
  • Initiates and participates in donor meetings which may include representatives from the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Resource Development, International and National Program Departments.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of Save the Children and international news and for building a general overall knowledge of the organization, including regularly reading l publications and attending office presentations and events, in order to understand and explain programs and financial information.

Solicitation, Cultivation and Stewardship

  • Identify new prospects and deepen knowledge of current portfolio.
  • Leverage existing professional corporate networks to garner introductions to new prospects or other philanthropic.
  • Identify, create, promote, and lead opportunities for expanding employee giving and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments on areas of overlap such as events, employee matching gift campaigns, employee engagement events, as appropriate.
  • Assist in producing stewardship reports and other donor communications including acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, operational updates, personalized updates, and more.

Workplace Giving/ Employee Engagement

  • Manage relationships and execute processes with Third Party Aggregators (TPAs) and matching gifts vendors (Benevity, CanadaHelps etc.).
  • Coordinate production of employee targeted mailings.
  • Develop and administer custom company employee donation pages.
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of donor records on the database.
  • Identify, create and promote opportunities for expanding employee giving and engagement.
  • Represent Save the Children and coordinate logistics for participation in workplace giving events. Assist in hosting/ facilitating employee giving and engagement opportunities.
  • Keep informed about work place giving industry trends and best practices.
Department Administration

  • Support the process of conducting rigorous Due Diligence on corporate partnerships in Canada including completing required documentation and contributing to related global processes.
  • Conduct routine data entry/review/analysis using donor database, keeping database current and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Corporate Partnerships on the implementation of procedures related to incoming corporate partnership inquiries, tracking, cultivation and stewardship followups and overall quality control.

WHAT YOU BRING

In order for you to carry out these duties, we believe that you are brining the following education and sets of skills.

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, International Development, Not for Profit Leadership, Business Administration or other related field.
  • At least two years of experience in fundraising with preference given to a corporate partnerships background.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in development and account management with corporate partnerships or relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with prospects and partners.
  • Creative and innovative; able to identify and develop new opportunities and adapt to changing sit
