    Primary Objectives


    HSB Canada's Head Office Engineering Department (HOED) is the center of competence for technical consultancy and risk assessment of highly exposed risks across North America. Our team of experienced engineers assesses operational risks, equipment breakdowns, and inherent hazards in various industrial processes. We are currently looking for a self-directed Engineer with strong analytical skills and attention to detail to join our team as a Process Engineer. This position reports to the HOED Engineering Manager and involves managing engineering standards, data analytics, project implementation, process mapping, and QA/QC work.

    Job Responsibilities


    1. Upkeep of HSB's Engineering Standards in line with required review cycles.
    2. Prepare detailed loss estimates for mechanical and electrical equipment based on market intelligence and internal data.
    3. Build and maintain standard engineering tools and templates.
    4. Contribute to the development of technical articles and educational tutorials.
    5. Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely completion of value-added work.
    6. Conduct comprehensive data analysis of equipment breakdown occurrences and losses.
    7. Create and maintain dashboards and reports to support management activities.
    8. Support the development and improvement of department SOPs through continuous improvement methodologies.
    9. Lead internal initiatives and projects from planning to reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years of experience in engineering with exposure to process design, data analytics, and project management.
    • At least 1 year of experience in cost estimation.
    • Experience in industries such as power, mining, chemical, nuclear, oil & gas, or manufacturing.
    • Proficient in building IT tools and systems in the Microsoft Environment.
    • Exposure to Quality Management functions and processes.
    • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills.
