Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton


Hours of Work: 35 hours per week


Reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Reporting & Receivables, the Accounting Coordinator plays an important role within the Corporate Finance team.

Your impact will be felt as you assist with the recording of revenues and cheque deposits received for the Region of Peel into an electronic computerized system, supporting the distribution of the Accounts Payable cheques and EFT advices, and the processing of monthly pre-authorized debits with the bank and recording into a computerized system.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assisting with the processing of Cash Receipts Deposit transactions, ensuring transactions balance with actual bank advice and that all sources of revenue have been identified and correctly coded.
  • Processing monthly Pre-Authorized Debits (PAD) for several departments using bank software. Ensuring that the PAD journal is recorded in the General Ledger.
  • Printing Accounts Payable cheques and keep track of printing supplies.
  • Processing the Accounts Payable electronic notifications for EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments.
  • Provide response to internal and external client enquiry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What the role requires:


  • High school diploma required. College diploma/University degree specifically in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset.
  • Three years of finance, accounting or equivalent administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Detail oriented combined with an ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player.
