    Our client, a leader in the Education industry, is looking for a Project Manager for an initial 6 month contract assignment to help with Transformation initiatives .

    Reporting to Sr, Director of PMO at the Strategic Transformation Office, lead projects from end -to-end using the Project Management Framework, established Governance practices, and
    overseeing the execution of common standards and methodologies for project management.

    Responsibilities


    • Provide support to cultivate a continuous improvement culture in Project Management,

    coordinating the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of operational reviews and implementation, controls for schedules, cost and scope, performance measures and audit/quality assurance.


    • Monitors existing operational reviews to ensure timely execution and completion,
    following project development to track that each stage is completed appropriately and
    within guidelines of the project management framework as required for the specific area
    of responsibility.


    • Deploy a tool set that supports project management best practices and provides the appropriate level of information capture, reporting, control, information sharing, and management insight.
    • Develop project charters describing project purpose, plan, objectives, milestones, timeline and budget estimates. Works to ensure client satisfaction in the achievement of the stated strategic goals and drives the project to successful completion.
    • Partner with key stakeholders including finance and change management to execute on stakeholder-based solutions.
    • Develop robust stakeholder engagement plans that enables consistent and effective
    communication with stakeholders to gather input about their needs and provide status updates on projects.


    • Manage project scope and implement change control procedures across the team to ensure that changes to deliverables or functionality are handled appropriately.
    • Identify issues and assess project risks quickly and proactively, taking appropriate actions as
    required to mitigate risk. Drive resolution of project risk and issues and escalate as required. Resolve project conflicts.


    • Provide timely and accurate reporting of the status of assigned projects.
    • Prepare regular, thorough, and articulate executive summaries for Strategic transformation office.
    • Prepares and monitors project budgets and oversees the tracking of expenses for implementation of operational reviews; reconciling amounts with the budget and finance office and assisting with
    the development of budgets, presentations, proposals and reports.


    • Work closely with business owners to determine business requirements, eliciting
    requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, business
    process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow
    analysis


    • Use analysis and critical thinking skills to evaluate information gathered from key sources, reconcile conflicts, determine root cause of issues, and deconstruct high-level
    information in detail in order to design and deploy effective solutions and improvements.


    • Conduct in-depth Interviews with project sponsors to gather their user requirements,
    identify potential strengths and weaknesses of current solution and environment, and
    work with a team to provide a solution.


    • Contributes to Preparation and assembling of background information and material or
    special reports, analyzing, evaluating data and statistics in support of the Sr. Director of
    PMO as required.


    • Advises on technical requirements for projects including the design, development and testing techniques.
    • Review faculties and divisions' business processes to identify opportunities for
    improvement, to increase efficiency and to ensure compliance with university policies and
    procedures.


    • Perform current state, future state gap analysis and change impact analysis and used the fit-gap analysis to determine changes to business processes or business operations.
    • Develops scenarios and specific exercises and assessments to elicit information and
    ensure specifications and requirements are correctly identified and simplify high-level
    business needs and requirements.


    • Reviews data and system processes and conducts analysis required and assists in
    determining feasibility of developing solutions. Analyses and synthesize information and
    present options, creative and practical solutions change to ensure compliance to
    standards and business processes.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in science, business, or related field. With demonstrated experience
    working as a project manager, and a combination of experience in business analysis, Specifically Change Management preferred.


    • Certification in Project Management is highly preferred.
    • Experience in the post-secondary sector is a Strong asset.
    • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a complex unionized environment
    with multiple stakeholders during periods of BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION and CHANGE
    initiatives.


    • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams. Exceptional influencing and team
    development skills.


    • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external partners and
    stakeholders.


    • Proficient in Project Management Software, specifically Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and interpretive skills, with the ability to synthesize and display information from a variety of sources in a way that meaningfully communicates to
    stakeholders.


    • Ability to perform root cause analysis on issues encountered during project delivery and
    devise course correction and 'get to green' plans.


    • Experience with change management theory in the development, execution and
    application of change management strategies and plans, combined with a solid
    understanding of how individuals and teams go through change.

    Summary
