- Operate, maintain, repair and modify elements, components and appliances associated with the steam distribution, steam condensate, hot water heating, heating ventilation and air conditioning, medical air/vacuum, mechanical power generation systems and other related equipment of the facility at a 3rd Class Power Engineer's level in conformance with accepted regulatory codes, Worksafe BC regulations and established Hospital policies and procedures.
- This position may also work within the VGH Energy Centre, as required.
- Education & Experience Certificate of competency as a 3rd Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of BC.
- Four (4) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
