Our primary goal is to support SAIT's Education Plan with a Student-First Culture by focusing on student success and mobilizing all campus community members in this shared goal.We are currently seeking three (3) highly qualified candidates with outstanding teaching contributions in Philosophy. Reporting to the Academic Chair in Philosophy, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Philosophy (critical thinking, ethics, introduction to philosophy, etc.) and is expected to be engaged in scholarly activities, curriculum development, and other professional services. Candidates who have a passion for teaching to diverse students, strive to contribute to applied education, and enjoy coaching students are encouraged to apply.     The Role

  • Deliver engaging courses in Philosophy (critical thinking, ethics, introduction to philosophy).
  • Courses are delivered to Business and Technology (diploma) programs and undergraduate students in an applied setting.
  • Develop application-based learning materials and assessments tailored to students' areas of specialty.
  • Evaluate students' progress and provide timely formative feedback.
  • Support the Academic Chair in a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Work closely with colleagues to undertake curriculum renewal and design.
  • Provide mentorship for new instructors.
  • Stay abreast of emerging pedagogical issues and educational technologies.
  • Under the direction of the Academic Chair, conduct scholarly activities, pursue external funding, and disseminate knowledge.
  • Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students.
  • Prepare additional study materials for learners.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Philosophy from an accredited institution.
  • Doctorate in Philosophy or Education from an accredited institution would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering learner-centered courses.
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in scholarly activities in a relevant field.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-work skills.
