- Conveniently located in Mississauga
- Assist lawyers in a busy family law practice;
- Completing sworn financial statements;
- Drafting court orders;
- Coordinating court dates;
- Assist in trial preparation;
- Liaise professionally with lawyers, clients, courts, and process servers;
- Open, close and maintain legal files;
- Prepare drafts of correspondence including letters to counsel, letters to courthouse, letter to process server, letter to third party professional;
- Docket time in PC Law and maintain accurate billing records;
- Arrange for filing and service of documents;
- Draft and prepare divorce applications, affidavits, motion materials, minutes of settlement, etc.;
- Manage timelines and bringforward system; and
- Assist with additional duties as needed.
- 2+years of experience as a Family Law Clerk;
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma from an accredited institution;
- Comprehensive experience with Divorce Mate and PC Law;
- Knowledge of Family Law Rules and Practice Directions;
- Intermediate experience researching case law will be considered an asset; and
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Demonstrative analytical skills, good judgment, and a and high attention to detail; and
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
