Regional Sales & Account Manager (Saskatoon)
**Regional Sales and Account Manager - North Saskatchewan
**The Regional Sales and Account Manager (RSAM), through clear direction, effective coaching, motivation and targeted development, leads and directs a team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to achieve or exceed regional sales targets for the complete Bayer portfolio (Crop Protection, Seeds and Traits and FieldView).


The RSAM establishes goals for TSMs in alignment with prescribed product strategies, then continuously monitors and reports the progress toward those goals.

Regular direction, coaching and targeted development of the team is understood as a core role of the RSAM in reaching goals.

This is a home-based with travel, permanent position based out of the Saskatoon, SK area.


What you will do:


  • Provide leadership, coaching, strategic direction, and motivation to the Territory Sales Managers in the region to meet or exceed regional sales objectives
  • Monitor and analyze areas for staff development, allocate resources for the necessary training to maximize employee performance, job satisfaction, career opportunities and sales results
  • Manage, track and report to Director, Commercial Operations progress of all sales initiatives / programs to ensure proper budgeting and ensure all offers are captured within the CRM tool, providing accurate and timely regional sales forecasting to the Director, Commercial Operations to ensure that production, demand and inventory management can be maximized
  • Work closely with Market Development Lead to ensure a coordinated effort in achieving regional sales objectives and to optimize usage of field testing programs to promote Bayer solutions
  • Develop and maintain an environment of professionalism and safe working practices to ensure a healthy culture that will contribute in a positive manner to organizational health
  • Ensure that Bayer products in the region are being represented, promoted, sold and serviced in a professional manner
  • Support Key Account Managers by providing distributor regional area offices with timely and clear communication on BCS initiatives and programs. Ensure proper coordination with Territory Sales Managers efforts and their retail / distributors customers
  • Coordinate regional activities, projects, and opportunities with all other Bayer staff in the region (Market Development, SeedGrowth, Digital Farming, InterAg, Field Solutions, Breeding, NAFTO and Marketing)

Who you are:


  • B.Sc or a relevant related field with a minimum of 10 years sales and/or marketing experience within the agriculture industry
  • A broad understanding of the Western Canadian crop production business, with more specific knowledge of the regional business as it relates to crop protection, biotechnology, distributor customers and the competitive environment
  • Effective leadership and coaching skills are required to ensure that the regional sales force has the direction to meet and exceed regional goals in an efficient manner
  • Experience leading a team is an asset
  • Strong English communication skills: written, verbal and listening, to maximize results with both internal and external customers
  • Experience working with product strategies to effectively compete in a strong marketplace
  • Demonstrated successful management of direct reports to maintain strong performance, job satisfaction and effective use of all resources
  • Evaluated customer needs to drive company growth
  • Experience resolving customer issues and handling challenging negotiations
