This role is eligible for hybrid work - this means you'll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (Regina/Saskatoon), on a scheduled rotation once training requirements have been met.

Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.

Environmental Sustainability Program- Leads the development and delivery of SGI's Environmental Sustainability Program, ensuring alignment to Saskatchewan's Climate Change Strategy.- Researches sustainability and energy management practices including emerging technologies to ensure SGI's sustainability program is comprehensive.- Builds and maintains SGI's GHG emission methodology, framework and ensures the technical accuracy of the inventory of data.- Coordinates and centralizes sustainability activities and reporting across all divisions in SGI.- Conducts Building Energy Audits.- Develops sustainability KPI's and completes regular reporting for SGI and external stakeholders (CIC).- Leads design and implementation of building waste diversion programs.- Manages compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for monitoring.- Develops and manages the environmental sustainability program budget.


Sustainability Projects- Develops business cases for sustainability projects (solar panel investments, LED lighting, high building waste diversion, rainwater capture, etc.).- Leads and/or oversees the completion of feasibility studies and design for sustainability projects.- Completes required procurement documentation and processes.- Manages the project and vendors in accordance with established processes.- Oversees commissioning and ongoing monitoring of initiatives post implementation to ensure proper functioning.- Develops and manages project budgets.- Understands and stays up to date with existing and emerging sustainability industry trends, technologies, issues, and policies and assesses their potential impact.


Electrical and Mechanical Systems Efficiencies- Reviews and analyzes building performance data and makes recommendations for maintenance or replacement of building electrical/mechanical components.- Approves mechanical and electrical design documents to ensure they meet internal energy management standards.- Signs off on mechanical and electrical design documents done by 3rd party engineering firms.


Leadership- Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.- Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.- Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.- Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.


Corporate Management- Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.- Manages risk in area of authority.- Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.


Education and Experience- A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as one of the building sciences (Engineering, Architecture).- Must hold a Professional Engineering designation in Canada (P.Eng) and be eligible for registration with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan as a P.Eng.- 6 years' experience in facilities management.- A valid driver's licence.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of building design and construction techniques and processes.- Knowledge of building mechanical, electrical systems, architectural, structural and civil engineering fields.- Knowledge of engineering and applied technologies.- Knowledge of environmental regulations and energy management.- Knowledge of project management practices, approaches, and techniques.- Knowledge of GHG emissions reporting methodologies.- Ability to organize and analyze data with attention to detail and accuracy.- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
