    About Spectacokids

    Spectacokids is a Centre/home-based ABA therapy provider covering Peel, and Halton regions, who believes every child is unique and has his or her own nature and learning style.

    Position Description

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, Spectacokids is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist, to provide speech therapy in home and in-centre, with children and youth up to the age of 18.

    This position will enhance the communication skills and quality of life of children with special needs, developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder through speech-language assessment, and intervention.

    Main Responsibilities
    Conduct groups and caregiver training workshops for parents and other professionals.
    Conduct evidence-based speech-language assessment, intervention, consultation, and training for caregivers using a mediator-based model.
    Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to client's unique needs and goals.
    Mentor and provide clinical supervision to Communicative Disorder Assistants.
    Work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team.
    Maintain records in keeping with the standards of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
    Stay up to date on best practices and advancements in the field of speech and language pathology.
    Provide summary reports of goals and treatment recommendations.
    Qualifications
    Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
    Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
    One year working with children with special needs, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, with communication disorders
    Proof of personal liability insurance
    Ability to work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team
    Conducted assessment and implemented intervention programs using low- and high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
    Individual Authorizer, Ontario Assistive Devices Program is considered an asset.

    Experience with children who have complex medical needs or who may be deaf or hard of hearing is an asset.

    The successful candidate must provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
    Hours of operation include the ability to work evenings each week and Saturdays.
    First aid and CPR training are considered an asset.
    Travel may be required.
