Parsons, as part of the Marigold Infrastructure Partners (MIP) is looking for an amazingly talented
Deputy Construction Manager to join our team and to support the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day management and coordination for of significant portions of the Construction work, having the authority within the project team, to give direction on Construction responsibilities and decisions.


The Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project is a 14-km long line extension of the soon to be in service Valley Line in downtown Edmonton, Alberta.

The scope of work generally includes complex staging; new facilities such as stations, OMSF, storage facility, and stops; elevated guideway; new structures; systems and communications installation; trackwork; testing and commissioning; and all other civil works associated with the scope.

It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT endeavour after the 5-year construction term.

The unique project challenges, such as cold weather climate and integration with an in-service LRT line, offers team members future career opportunities in the robust transit portfolio of the City of Edmonton and other similar programs across Canada.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Ensure the Construction is in full compliance with the Project Agreement, including matters relating to quality, safety, environment, and life cycle performance
  • Develop the Construction Management Plan, and ensuring compliance to such plan through the Project
  • Manage the Construction teams and Construction process to ensure the infrastructure is constructed in accordance with the Construction Schedule
  • Coordinate with the Design Manager to jointly ensure constructability of the design
  • Coordinate with the Utilities Manager to jointly ensure utility and pipeline conflicts do not impact construction and the Construction Schedule
  • Work with other Key Individuals to ensure the design and construction are implemented in a coordinated fashion meeting Project Requirements and the Project vision;
  • Ensure the construction is in accordance with the design and that design changes are not implemented without the engineer of record's prior approval and Client's acceptance
  • Plan, coordinate, communicate and implement accepted traffic accommodations and control measures during construction
  • Support project communication by supplying appropriate information to effectively communicate construction to the general public and impacted stakeholders
  • Provide Project closeout documentation related to design as constructed
  • During the Construction Period, be physically located and present all Business Days of every week at the project location
  • At all times throughout the Construction Period, be available to fulfill the full extent of his or her role and be reasonably available to meet inperson with the Client's Representative on no less than 72 hours' notice.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • BS degree from accredited University or equivalent construction management experience
  • Must have 15+ years of experience in a prime contract role as a Construction Manager, performing tasks as outlined above.
  • Must have direct experience performing in a construction management or similar role for a substantive time period in an urban environment at least twice within approximately the last 20 years, with at least one project being in Canada or the United States.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability in managing large complex multidisciplinary construction teams on projects valued over $250M CAD and achieving project objectives
  • Experience working as a CM in a large integrated joint venture infrastructure project
