Position Objective


The Technical Advisor's primary role is to be a liaison and support mechanism between Lenworth's Account Managers, Service and Installation Teams, customers and suppliers.


The key focus points of this position are:

to enhance efficiency, project accuracy and in turn, profitability of all projects, as well as to lead the training and development of our service technicians.

This position requires a high level of organizational skills, product knowledge and multitasking capabilities as well as excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.

The Technical Advisor will report directly to the Technical Manager.


Regular Working Hours - 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

Technical Review

  • Ensure each project that is passed by Lenworth's Account Managers is reviewed, understood and verified to be correct as part of the Technical Review process prior to any product being ordered.
All Technical Review requests are to be completed within (48) hours as per
Lenworth's policy.

Complete site visits as required to ensure smooth project completion.

Complete Site Take-Off Forms (STFs) and compare against provided
Vendor Quotes to confirm provided measurements are accurate - and if
not, request revisions to Vendor Quotes

  • Ensure all requirements are provided with Estimates submitted for Technical Review, including: a minimum (2) pictures inside and outside, Site Take-Off Forms (STFs), and 100% accurate vendor quotes. These must be provided prior to prior to Technical Approval and ultimately, E-Order Submission
  • Verify that all sold projects have adequate labour in line with the Lenworth Price Book or if it's a custom install, additional labour and install kits have been carried to ensure the project is profitable and smooth.
  • Complete site visits to generate quotes for "house" accounts including obtaining vendor pricing (if required), sending quotation on Lenworth letterhead, following up as required and processing order, upon approval

Technical Support/Warranty

  • Readily available to provide prompt technical support to the service team at all times including afterhours as required
  • Monitor vendor quality including summarizing history on product performance issues to provide to manufacturer (as well as internal management team) for resolution and improved product quality
  • Manage the warranty process of defective part return and manufacturer reimbursement according to internal and manufacturer guidelines, including seeing through to ensure payment is received
  • Manage the ESA administration and certification process for all Lenworth electrical provided projects

Other

  • Places a strong focus on continuous improvement of STFs to ensure Lenworth staff have accurate documents to improve the customer experience and provide all necessary data from sales
  • Assist with leading Lenworth University to ensure we develop the best service team across Canada
  • Develop, administrate and deliver all training material to service crew with the assistance of Department Managers and Technical Advisor, including monitoring field development
  • Enforce and uphold all company and safety policies
  • Ensure our customers are trained and aware of potential safety hazards with equipment
  • Ensure we are consistently "Doing It Right" exceeding customer expectations
  • Ensure all customers receive friendly and efficient service from all employees and ultimately, ensure our standard of service excellence is delivered consistently

Qualifications

  • Excellent language and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail is critical, ability to multitask are all essential to this position
  • Proven technical aptitude acquired through a similar role or field service required.
  • Industry experience that includes: docks levelers, doors, seals, truck restraints, seals, gates and HVLS fans is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in project management, development of technical solutions an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong problemsolving capabilities, strong sense of responsibility and selfmotivation, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Able to work independently and with others in a fastpaced, busy team environment.
  • Valid Drivers license
